Le terme manifeste a principalement été choisi pour ce qu'il évoque en tant que nom. Le considérer comme adjectif suggère en effet des interprétations additionelle qui peuvent également intéresser le jury. De même, le terme anglais "emblematic" (qui donnerait en français "emblématique") pourrait servir, indistinctement dans les deux language, à inspirer des réflexions sur le projet. Les termes utilisées dans le programme ne sont pas considérés limitatifs. Le concours sollicte explicitement, avec un ouverture d'esprit évidente, les idées des concurrents autour de ces termes et de ceux qui peuvent y être associés.
Response:
The term "manifeste" was chosen as a noun. Its use as an adjective suggests a variety of interpretations that could also interest the jury, just as "emblematic" ("emblématique" in French) could inspire, in both languages, certain ways of addressing the project. The terms used in the programme are not meant to limit interpretations. The competition asks participants to develop ideas that interpret terminology with an open mind.

SO is that up to participants to decide on the new look of the additional building? For example am I eligible to design something as contemporary as the Louver pyramid?

It is indeed up to participants to reflect upon the articulation of the relationship between the existing building and a new intervention. The jury will decide the level of interest of submitted propositions. It is not possible to presume in advance which hypotheses are the most promising.

a) should the 300 word proposal contain a part for the proposed concept's question? Or

In other words, it is not about resolving a specific problem or series of problems, but rather engaging in a larger discussion, supported by a theoretical foundation beyond the spatial, temporal and cultural limits laid out by the competition.

b) the project is not required to perfectly resolve these questions. The project should justify the importance of asking the questions and attempt to suggest possible solutions.

a) l'amphithéâtre doit pouvoir servir à l'année longue, ce qui suppose, compte tenu du climat québécois, qu'il soit entièrement intérieur. Un amphithéâtre extérier n'est pas requis. Rien n'empêche toutefois de proposer des aménagements extérieurs, le concours d'idées étant ouvert aux réflexions des concurrents sur le programme et sur la forme des espaces.
b) Les configurations et les capacités de modulation de l'amphithéâtre sont laissées au choix des concurrents. Cet espace a pour vocation première la tenue de cours et de conférences.

This does not rule out proposing an outdoor structure, as the ideas competition is open to participants' ideas about the program and the building form.
b) the configuration and modularity of the amphitheater are open to the ideas of the participants. This space will be used first and foremost for courses and conferences.
